A vacancy exists for a Senior Accounts Clerk, based at Life Fourways Hospital, reporting to the Finance & Administration Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for capturing data and financial information and performing specific general ledger reconciliations to specific areas of the financial processes in the financial accounting of the business unit.
Critical OutputsResponsible for month-end processes and assist in capturing data;Manage, prepare and capture requisitions, orders, and payments on SAP;Facilitate the procurement cycle;Manage allocated creditors, reconcile, process, and liaise with creditors and hospital staff on a daily basis regarding queries;Code and allocate payments and receipts in the cashbook (assisting);Assist the Finance & Admin Manager with ad-hoc tasks;Assist the accounting hub with clearing bank and debtors reconciling items;Resolve creditors and debtors account queries;Maintain a filing system for creditors and update the contracts register;Assist in reviewing and establishing adequate internal controls;Manage the accounts receivable sub-system (Doctors' rentals and ad hoc charges);Prepare accurate and complete accruals at month-end;Assist the Finance & Admin Manager with month-end and Capital Expenditure Reporting;Perform general admin duties, e.g., filing, taking minutes, etc.;Liaise with the national credit control department regarding daily banking and bank transfer payments;Handle petty cash;Perform monthly reconciliations on creditors;Perform daily banking and cashbooks;Reconcile the Nursing agency accounts daily and liaise with nursing management;Ensure a healthy internal control environment;Meet month-end deadlines;Accurate financial processing;Manage capital expenditure reporting;Comply with statutory requirements and adhere to company protocols and corporate governance;Assist in the preparation of annual financial budgets based on company guidelines.RequirementsGrade 12;A relevant degree or diploma in finance/accounting and a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in accounting;Understanding of the financial process up to trial balance level, with the ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations;Proficient in MS Office;SAP knowledge would be advantageous;Honesty, trustworthy, and willing to work overtime;Deadline-driven.CompetenciesAttention to detail;Figure-oriented;Teamwork and dedication;Ability to work under pressure;Positive attitude in handling situations;Drive & energy;Strong leadership and trustworthy;Ethical behavior;Building relationships;Customer responsiveness;Organizational awareness;Team player;Fast learner.Email: ****** Closing date: Friday, September 13, 2024
