The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to accurately record revenue and accounting for it in line with Accounting Standards applicable, implement a system for the accurate accounting and reporting of SANBI's revenue and other financial information and to ensure good corporate governance, to uphold legislation and all regulatory requirements.
A Grade 12, Job Specific Qualification, or equivalent qualification at NQF 4 with 5 years of work experience in relevant field OR a National Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or Advanced Certificate, or equivalent qualification at NQF 6 with 3 years of work experience in relevant field. A higher Education Qualification/Advanced in Finance, Accounting or equivalent at NQF 7 will be an added advantage.
The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: excellent knowledge and understanding of revenue management is essential; revenue process; extensive knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures, processes, practices, systems, and frameworks related to GRAP accounting; strict adherence to policies, procedures, processes, governance, compliance and confidentiality; in-depth knowledge and understanding of Public Finance Management Act, and Treasury Regulations are essential; ability to plan, solve problems, and implement solutions; good planning, organizing, interpersonal, time management, and problem solving skills; excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (SAGE 300 ERP, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook) will be advantageous.
