Senior Accountant & Tax Consultant

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant & Tax Consultant. Beyond recording transactions and reconciling accounts, this role involves significant responsibilities and leadership within the team, including overseeing the work of Junior Accountants. The Senior Accountant & Tax Consultant manages and oversees the accounting functions and provides strategic tax planning and consulting services to clients. This includes preparing financial reports, managing general ledger operations, filing tax returns, and advising clients on tax strategies to optimise their financial positions.

Responsibilities will include: Supervise and mentor junior accounting and tax staff. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment. Prepare monthly and/or quarterly management reports Prepare annual financial statements for clients ensuring compliance with IFRS Prepare consolidated financial reports for clients with multiple entities. General ledger management Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes for clients. Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes. Tax compliance and planning Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, and provisional tax and income tax returns for clients. Provide tax consulting services and advise on tax strategies. Assist clients in the preparation of their annual budget and financial forecasts. Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance. Support clients in strategic financial planning. Qualifications and skills required: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 1-2 years post articles particularly from an accounting firm Registration with a professional accounting body (e.g. SAIBA, SAIPA, etc) is advantageous Experience in financial reporting, tax compliance, and budgeting Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, Simple pay, Draft Worx/CaseWare, SARS e filing) To apply, please send your CV to ******
