The Senior Accountant will play a key role in preparing and analysing financial records, supporting audit engagements, and advising clients on financial best practices. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting and auditing, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to upholding industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. Assist in audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting in line with SAIPA standards and regulations. Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure all accounts are accurately maintained. Work with clients to gather information, understand their business needs, and provide financial guidance. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes for client accounts. Conduct variance analysis, identify discrepancies, and recommend adjustments or improvements. Provide training and guidance to junior staff, fostering growth and knowledge-sharing within the team. Stay up to date with changes in accounting and auditing standards to maintain best practices. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors degree in accounting (BCom) required. Completion of SAIPA articles as a minimum. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, Pastel, or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP principles. Proficient in VAT and Income Tax submissions Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
