Due to extensive growth, Fusion Consulting Group are looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join a leading Professional Services Group to be based out of our Johannesburg office, in South Africa.
The group has several subsidiaries ranging from Tax, Accounting, Legal, Financial Services and Executive Recruitment. Our mission is to disrupt the disjointed Professional Services space.
Job Summary Working with our team of accountants, you will be required to complete end to end accounting tasks for a range of SME businesses, using industry leading tools.
The role of Senior Accountant will report directly to the Head of Accounting.
Responsibilities Maintain records of our clients using accounting software packages including Xero and Sage 50Use cloud accounting tools to process transactions, prepare and post journals, update all ledgers, perform bank reconciliations ready for the monthly reporting processLiaising with clients on any queriesMaking journal entries for all receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.Undertake financial close procedures for the month end, including inter-company balance reconciliationPreparing management accounts and month end reconciliations, including commentaryDrafting and finalising year end accounts for Limited and LLP's from start to finish under FRS 102, Section 1A and FRS 105, ready for client and management reviewHold client meetings advising them of potential Tax/Accounting implicationsPreparing of service charge accountsPreparing extended trial balances including the final year end trial balancePreparing cash flow statements.Running the monthly payroll for clients, including RTI submissions and pension contribution calculationsPreparing corporation tax computation calculations and basic tax planningDealing with the preparation and completion of VAT returns, including EC Sales and Intrastat returnsApply and understand the client to ensure transactions are recorded appropriately, under the correct accounting standard and highlight unusual transactions to senior members of the teamApply a basic knowledge of rules and regulations followed by UK SME's including tax requirements, company secretarial and a general commercial awarenessWork as part of a team to provide ad-hoc accounting assistance and ensure clients receive an excellent serviceCandidate Requirements ACCA or ACA qualifiedAt least two years post-qualification experience within accountancy practiceMust be highly organised, proactive and a self-starterAble to prioritise workload and be self-sufficientAbility to train and mentor junior members of staffXero certified user and familiar with IrisPrevious experience holding client finalisation meetingsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsIntermediate MS Office, including Excel, WordWhat we Offer An additional day off for your Birthday every yearExcellent training and development opportunitiesOpportunity to join a rapidly expanding firm at a very exciting stage of growthJob Type: Full-time, Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm
