Senior Accountant

This role offers the opportunity to lead a finance team, work on complex financial structures, and contribute to the company's ongoing success in a dynamic global environment.This role is based in Parktown North, Johannesburg North.Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Oversight:Manage and oversee the Finance Team, ensuring accurate and timely execution of financial tasks.Act as a mentor and provide guidance to enhance team performance.Financial Management & Reporting:Perform detailed reconciliations of the balance sheet monthly.Process advanced and complex journal entries.Maintain precise and comprehensive financial records to support strategic decision-making.Conduct analytical reviews and provide valuable insights to senior management.Compliance & Audit:Manage year-end audits, ensuring all statutory requirements are met.Prepare and present accurate financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.Technical Expertise:Assist in drafting annual financial statements using Draftworx.Support group consolidations, especially for entities with foreign subsidiaries.Handle foreign currency transactions with accuracy and compliance.Qualifications & Experience:A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with a strong track record in leadership.Deep knowledge of South African financial laws and regulations.Proficiency in IFRS and a thorough understanding of group structures and consolidations.Experience with foreign subsidiaries and multi-currency transactions.Expertise in Sage 300; knowledge of SAP or Oracle NetSuite is advantageous.
