JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant/ Group Accountant MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The main purpose of Senior Accountant/ Group Accountant job is to ensure the financial integrity, compliance across the group and to oversee and review the day to day activities of the group. The role will have a significant leadership component as this role will be responsible for the management of regional accountants and credit controllers. This role is critical to ensure the integrity of statutory, management and board reporting as well as for drafting and maintaining finance policies and procedures for the group. DESCRIPTION OF FIELD OF DUTY (KPA's): Monthly Management Accounts and Cash Flow Forecasting : Assist in the timely preparation of monthly management accounts and develop accurate cash flow forecasts to manage liquidity effectively and plan for future financial needs. Financial Risk Management : Identify financial risks and opportunities through detailed financial analysis. Implement strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities to enhance financial performance and stability. Financial Modelling and Forecasting : Develop and refine financial models for budgeting, forecasting future performance, and cash flow forecasting. Provide actionable insights to guide the company's financial planning and resource allocation. Audit process and Annual Financial Statements : Manage the audit process for the relevant regions, ensuring any delays are communicated timeously. Ensure the group audits are in line with the agreed upon timelines and annual financial statements are reviewed and signed off by the deadlines. Regulatory and Compliance : Ensure financial operations comply with relevant laws, standards and financial policies and procedures. Implement compliance controls and procedures. Technology – Financial Systems Implementations and Enhancements : Lead and support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and technologies to improve financial data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities. Performance Measurement and Improvement : Continuously measure financial performance against set objectives and KPIs. Recommend and implement improvements to financial processes and strategies to drive efficiency, profitability, and growth. Team Management : Ability to lead a team, drive the achievement of business goals, and ensure timely delivery of key deliverables. Skilled in setting clear targets and effectively measuring team performance. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Degree or B.Degree (Hons) in Accounting / Financial Management CA (SA), CIMA or similar profession membership will be advantageous. WORK EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years' experience in a similar or related field
