The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, and will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in process improvement, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.What to ExpectSupervision and review of reconciliations across the groupOverseeing the processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial recordsOversee the processes, review and approval of payments and assist with the implementation of a streamlined payment processAssisting with the implementation of a streamlined credit card processMaintenance of the fixed asset register and related processesPreparation and review of general journals and supporting the month end close processEnsuring reliable and punctual financial Record-To-Report process in accordance with the group standards Providing necessary documentation to support internal and external auditorsProactively work on process improvement, efficiency and automation, improving the internal financial control environmentAd hoc: Assist with tax items across the group (PAYE, VAT, Directives), Banking Administration and resolution of queries, Assist with any additional tasks as requiredWhat You'll BringQualificationsBCom degree or Honours or equivalent qualification in accountingCIMA, SAIPA or AGA designation will be advantageousExperience and skillsAccounting Principles 3+ years of experience applying accounting principles in practiceOverall Accounting Experience5+ years of direct accounting experience with broad exposure in capturing, processing, reviewing, and reportingProficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software packagesHighly organised and detail orientedStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsProactive and able to take initiativeAdaptable to changing environments and technologies
