You will be reporting to the Head of Finance who will plan, direct, or coordinate accounting, investing, banking, insurance, securities, and other financial activities within the company, in which the Senior Accountant will play a supporting role.

A bit more about the Opportunity...What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like Develop financial reporting and internal control templates for all staff that align with company policy.Assist the Head of Finance with ad hoc projects.Compile, implement and enforce departmental procedures in support of the business strategy.Evaluate and optimize departmental systems and procedures in support of the business plan/strategy.Review and post general ledger entries.Track and analyze monthly cash flow to ensure business needs and budgets are met.Conduct analysis of income and expenditure to budget figures, providing explanations and business solutions to help mitigate risk.Gather all data for monthly management reports and review various internal and external reports published to different departments.Analyze actual reporting on a monthly basis.Provide input into the development and training of direct reports.Initiate disciplinary action for departmental staff members who are non-compliant with company objectives/policies and procedures.Ensure that the organizational structures and processes contribute to the achievement of the Company's goals and objectives.Ensure income statement and balance sheet transactions are correctly accounted for and that all reconciliations are completed and signed off monthly.Manage all payments to SARS on company taxes, ensuring compliance from an accurate and timely point of view.What amazing People will bring to the roleWhat Amazing people will bring to the role 1-2 years' experience in a similar financial role.Ability to develop your own competencies required for daily functioning.Provide input into your own Personal Development Plan (own and subordinates).Ability to partake in training as and when required.Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job.Assist in ensuring effective staff administration, adhering to legal requirements.Proficiency in financial accounting and reporting, including external statutory reporting and audit.Basic knowledge of South African tax and accounting practices.Sound knowledge of implementation and monitoring of financial controls and economic and accounting principles and practices, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.Working knowledge of B-BBEE and of the Sage Evolution accounting system.Requirements: Minimum: 1 - 2 years' experience in a similar financial reporting roleFinance Degree or NQF 7 equivalentSAICA/SAIPA articles (+- 2 years post-articles experience advantageous)Clear credit and criminal recordS.A Citizen or valid work permit for S.AIf you like the sound of being part of the Sigma Family, then don't wait and get applying!
