Senior Accountant

Job Title: Senior AccountantJob Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Mayfly Agri (Pty) Ltd. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing and reviewing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.Key Responsibilities:Manage the delivery of work to a portfolio of clients.Prepare and review VAT returns, management reporting, CIS returns, and P11Ds.Review work from within Xero or the relevant accounting system.Perform bookkeeping and data processing.Set up and train on Xero and related apps.Develop budgets and forecasts.Undertake ad-hoc projects.Manage client expectations and deliver up-to-date financials and compliance filings on time.Engage in CPD and ongoing training.Ensure confidentiality of sensitive client data.Work with other team members to meet deadlines.Identify opportunities to improve and streamline internal processes.Train others on accounting systems and add-ons.Act in accordance with the business's values and competency framework.Communicate with direct line managers.Communicate clearly and concisely with clients.Demonstrate strong accounting knowledge, particularly regarding the requirements of FRS 102.Requirements:Relevant accountancy qualification.Minimum 3 years experience within an accounting firm or accounting role.Experience in producing management accounts and VAT returns.Experience using Xero and Excel is advantageous.
