Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant position available in Bellville, Cape Town, for a candidate with 5 years of POST SAICA experience in the financial services/insurance industry.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Bellville, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, with experience in IFRS 15, 16, and 17.
Key Responsibilities:

Attend to SARS queries and prepare and update management account templates for management and board
Perform review procedures every month, including liability and expenses, and prepare IFRS16 related calculations and journals
Assist with payroll and HR queries, and prepare income statements, accounting to trial balance expenses, debtors/creditors, and income/expenses
Perform review procedures on petty cash reconciliations, bank/expense, balance sheet items, and assets/expenses/liabilities
Assist with preparing yearly budget reporting and IFRS16 specific, and perform review procedures on quarterly payroll stats

Requirements:

Grade 12 or similar qualifications
BCom/B. Accounting degree or postgraduate diploma
Completed SAICA articles and 5 years post-article experience, including audit principles
Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in payroll, preferably in People 300/VIP Payroll
Case ware knowledge and experience, and applied knowledge of IFRS 15, 16, and 17
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
