Responsibilities Financial Controls : Implement and maintain key financial controls and processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Month-End Close : Oversee the month-end close process, including balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
Team Leadership : Manage and guide the finance team to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.
External Audit Coordination : Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and support the audit process.
Reporting & Analysis : Review management accounts and prepare monthly financial and operational reports.
Budgeting & Forecasting : Oversee and assist in budget preparation and forecasting, ensuring alignment with financial standards.
Journal Management : Prepare, review, and approve journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
SARS Compliance : Handle inquiries related to Tax, VAT, and other financial matters with SARS.
Cross-Department Collaboration : Collaborate with other divisions to achieve overall business objectives.
Cash Management : Prepare payments, maintain the cashbook, and manage the fixed asset register.
Requirements Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Senior Accounting or equivalent role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
Experience dealing with SARS and familiarity with Tax and VAT regulations.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across divisions.
