Semi-Senior Accountant

The Semi Senior Accountant reports to the Accounts and Payroll Manager and is capable of handling both a backup role in the associated companies as well as the insurance accounting stated below:DebtorsCreditorsPetty cashBank capturingReconciliation of above ledgersVAT Reconciliation and preparationPayroll processing (Advantage)Tax returns for PAYE, VAT, Provisional Tax and Income Tax (Advantage)Industries currently traded within the group:InsuranceFinance RentalProperty Rental and ManagementMotor TradePayrollTasks and Responsibilities:Insurance payment receiptingCapturing rejected debit ordersMonthly and ad hoc debit order runsRefund runsMonth end debit order runMonth end commission runMonth end insurance fee calculationsSurveyor fee payment and reportingCustomer invoicing and receipting on a timely basisCapture debtors' paymentsIssue customer statements on a monthly basisFollow up on overdue debtors' accountsSupplier paymentsEnsure all suppliers' invoices are appropriately authorized for payment and captured dailyPrepare supplier payments in accordance with instructions from ManagementGeneral Administration & FilingContract preparation and review of legal supplier/service provider contractsFull function cash book, debtors, creditors capturing, reconciliation and paymentsProfit and loss checks and balance sheet reportingVAT reconciliation and preparation for submissionSkills, Abilities and Qualities Necessary for the Position:Ability to work in a dynamic teamExperience in Debtors reconciliationCash book capturing and reconciliationSupplier reconciliationGood computer skillsGood Excel and Outlook skillsAbility to learn new software quicklyAbility to follow proceduresAbility to multitask but also focusAbility to be accurate and follow instructionsWillingness to learn new things constantlyWillingness to grow personallyGood communication and letter writing skillsMotivatedWillingness to studyReliable & FlexibleAttention to detailQualifications:Minimum qualifications:Completed 2nd year accounting studies - NQF 5Most beneficial qualification:Completed 3rd year accounting studies - NQF 6 / BCom Accounts
