· Develop, implement and monitor security policies, protocols and procedures · Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses · Recruit, train and supervise security officers and guards · Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs · Plan and coordinate security operations · Coordinate staff when responding to emergency or other incidents · Review reports on incidents and breaches · Investigate and resolve issues · Create reports for management on security compliance and operations status · Ensure adherence to service level agreements on sites Requirements and skills · 15 years experience as security manager or in a similar position · Experience in using relevant security technology and equipment · Experience in reporting and emergency response planning · Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures · Solid understanding of budgeting and analysis of trends · Working knowledge of MS Office · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Outstanding organizational and leadership skills · Committed and reliable · Degree or Diploma in the field of Security · Grade A PSIRA Registration essential · Valid Firearm competency for shotgun, handgun and rifle · Code 10 Drivers licence essential · Valid SAPS Clearance certificate · Previous experience in SAPS will be an advantage Key Tasks & Responsibilities will include: · Providing protection for personnel and company property through the management of security protocols · Developing, implementing and maintaining security policies to meet required codes and regulations. · Utilising a strong knowledge of access control systems, CCTV equipment and investigations · Managing the performance of contract security personnel · Acting as a liaison with local law enforcement agencies · Providing security education and awareness activities · Preparing and maintaining all required security and documentation · Co-ordinating and administering security clearances and other security procedures · Preparing and managing budgets and expenditure · Creativity and innovation in deploying security and security technologies · Oversee Security Operations on multiple sites · Any other duties considered necessary to meet the needs of the business
