Our client in Bantry Bay is seeking a highly skilled Security Manager to join their prestigious team.
The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 qualification and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a 4- or 5-star property.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential, along with a solid understanding of local law, company code of conduct, and relevant labor regulations.
We are looking for a proactive problem solver with excellent attention to detail and a proven track record as a team leader who sets a positive example for others.

Ensure sufficient staffing and coverage across the property at all times.
Take action and investigate suspicious persons / circumstances (Guests, staff, delivery person etc.)
Ensure all stores, offices and BOH doors are locked after hours and reported if not.
Spot-check deliveries on arrival and departure from time to time.
Standardize minimum sufficient staff searches for arrival and departure.
Ensure staff registration is completed on arrival and departure in order to have working knowledge of all on site staff in case of emergency / incident.
Secure all BOH areas to ensure non-authorized persons do not gain admittance.
Ensure security presence in FOH areas especially during peak periods Engage guests, staff, visitors and delivery services for routine conversations.
Monitor and control access to the property at all ports of entry.
Liaise with third party associates including: The local policy.
Local hotel security managers.
Supplier security managers.
Other security bodies working in / around the area.
Conduct and complete comprehensive and exhaustive enquiries when incidents do occur.
Investigation and reporting to include: Date and time.
Reported by.
Nature of incident.
All parties to be interviewed and interrogated if necessary.
Surveillance footage to be analyzed.
Detailed summary of report to be presented to Exec management.
Decision on way forward to be made (Polygraph, suspension, dismissal etc.
in line with LRA and BCEA) Monitor CCTV cameras ensuring all operational and in good working order.
Develop and introduce spot check systems to use on staff and suppliers entering the property specifically:   Food and beverage.
Staff transport (especially when outsourced) Other regular visitors with management complete pre-employment staff checks.
Staff Management: To provide effective leadership through professional man-management and encouragement of all subordinates and due to the nature of the position through working in conjunction with fellow HOD using mediation when required.
To carry out regular, meaningful performance appraisals conducted in such a manner that effective, open, two-way communication is maintained.
To follow up and ensure that the agreed action and developmental plans identified at these appraisals are being affected.
To ensure that all managers and staff are totally conversant with all company security policies and procedures, basic conditions of employment and labour regulations as well as disciplinary codes of the company.
This will include disciplining of staff as and when required.
To ensure that training is implemented and maintained.
To maintain effective working relationships with HOD's.
Attend Daily HOD meetings with the operational team.
Assist HR and other departments in chairing disciplinary hearings as and when necessary.
Any reasonable task as requested by the General Manager.
