Section Manager - Commercial Department Sales TeamOur client, within the automotive component manufacturing sector, is looking for a Section Manager to join their Commercial Department Sales Team. The position requires an individual with excellent leadership and management skills, who is forward-thinking with proven experience and qualifications for the function.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION:Relevant NQF7 tertiary qualificationEXPERIENCE:Minimum 10 years' experience in Automotive / Component Manufacturing5 years' experience in a Key Account Management positionExperience in Pricing Negotiations, Benchmarking, Cost Index Manufacturing, and Foreign Exchange PurchasesExperience in Planning and Implementation of Cost Reduction ActivitiesExperience in strategic Sales and Marketing Techniques (including new and existing Accounts)Experience with Cost Planning of Component and Assembly PartsRELEVANT JOB KNOWLEDGE:Excellent knowledge in Planning and Implementation of Cost Reduction ActivitiesCustomer Relation Management at an Executive LevelExcellent knowledge and experience in Pricing Negotiations / Benchmarking / Cost Index Manufacturing / Foreign Exchange PurchasesExcellent knowledge and understanding of Bill of MaterialsStrengthening and diversifying Profit MarginsExcellent knowledge of Cost Engineering - from drawing review, process calculation to quotation phaseKEY PERFORMANCE AREA:Plan, Develop and Implement the Company's Sales / Marketing Systems & Policies – alongside parent Company's requirements and policy.Develop and maintain Customer Relationship ManagementContinuous liaison with Customer on varied Business matters, not limited to Sales.Ensure effective price negotiations with Customer in line with Company's Sales plan.Review and effective control of Request for Quotation (RFQ) ProcessInvestigate, Optimise and Implement Cost Reduction ActivitiesPromote cost planning activities and cost maintenance.Prepare and Implement the Sales Plan and Promote Development of PlanMonthly Reporting of Sales / Turnover to Senior Management and Overseas Regional Office and AffiliatesLiaise with Overseas Regional Office on all Sales related matters.Reporting of problem areas and possible countermeasures to Senior ManagementImplement counter measures to ensure quality of service to internal and external customers.Attend to any other adhoc sales / business related matters arising within the organisation.Staff ManagementCompetencies:Vision and challengeStrong leadership capabilitiesOwnership and initiativeBroad perspectiveConsidered and timely decision makingPlanning and prioritizationExecution and perseveranceOrganizational enhancementInspiration and motivationPeople development
