Job Description Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Prepare financial systems required by the Operations and the BU Setting up financial projects Exceptional re-allocation of labour and/or working hours in team Prepare financial expenditure within agreed parameters Changing plans and schedules to minimize the effect of unexpected problems Cost accounting standards for Operation Guiding of employees to agreed parameters and procedures Standardise reporting and implement processes Assist in new management information system design and implementation Prepare AAP monthly management report ensuring key issues are highlighted with focus on key value drivers and trend analysis. Prepare updated forecasts and any sensitivity in respect of that forecast as well as review of risks and opportunities to AAP results. Throughout the year, analyse performance and anticipate, research and resolve issues.
This could include identifying the impact of operating anomalies, adverse financial trends, changes in policies and reporting requirements, and evaluating the impact on reported results. Liaise effectively with key business contacts and build up strong working relationships (e.g.
regularly visit Business Units operations and head office sites). Participate in AAP led performance and diagnostic reviews and provide supporting analysis as required to Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, Operations Optimisation, Taxation and other Group departments. Share and re-apply best practice in Plan to Perform (budgeting, forecasting, scenario and sensitivity planning) Provide timely and accurate analysis, challenge, and insightful review of the value driver and performance reports (budgets, forecast and actuals) produced by the operations as well as AAP results. Monitor, review and follow up on control and reporting issues and adherence to AAP policies and procedures. Qualifications Financial related degree with professional qualification Experience: At least 8 years management experience in a mining environment Knowledge and Skills: Operations: Project management fundamentals New technologies and their impact on operational activities within scope of role Business improvement tools and techniques Financial acumen: Business acumen and commercial drivers of site performance Basic financial metrics & budgeting tools Management: Risk management techniques and critical controls Leadership tools for implementing a culture of purpose–led high performance and change Compliance: Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory, regulatory and permitting requirements Additional Information Who We Are
