Job Profile:
Manage the Electrical, Instrumentation & Statutory maintenance department to ensure planned maintenance, corrective maintenance, plant upgrades and relevant problem solving so that acceptable levels of plant availability are maintained.
Key Performance Areas:
Ensure plant availability within set parameters (97%).
Monitor & review inspection worksheets & initiate any further corrective maintenance.
Act & advise as subject matter specialist in all Electrical, Instrumentation and Statutory projects/teams for improvement.
Compile planned maintenance plan, have them approved, and ensure activities take place as per maintenance plan.
Review plan and adapt maintenance activities as appropriate to ensure efficiencies and cost-effectiveness.
Develop maintenance procedures.
Ensure work is undertaken in accordance with applicable standards (Quality & Safety, etc), policies & procedures.
Receive & evaluate all ad-hoc requests from departments/customers for repairs.
Purchase parts/spares needed to satisfy the requests & feedback to customer, appropriately.
Initiate practices to minimise down time of equipment.
Improve on mean time to repair.
Identify high risk components, ensure sufficient stocks and keep all necessary spares for downtime (Including all critical spares)
Assist and be involved in the Engineering and Projects department with technical support on new projects.
Deploy Artisans/Technician as required to respond effectively to problems, breakdowns, discontinuities.
Review systems and equipment to ensure optimum levels of performance in terms of 5-year strategic plan.
Perform two-year reviews on documentation as initiated by the Senior Maintenance Manager.
Analyse the strategy plan to determine the applicable deliverables & targets.
Determine the staff requirements, permanent and contractors, in accordance with the expected deliverables.
Motivate the staff to ensure that deliverables will be met in accordance with the expected targets.
Identify areas of underperformance and put actions in place to improve.
Compile the Performance Management documentation in collaboration with the staff member in terms of: Performance Output Profile requirements, Key Performance Areas/Indicators and Individual Development Plan.
Develop budgets in terms of prescribed guidelines, including Capex, Opex, overheads and costs.
Monitor and manage the budgets on a monthly basis, report and forecast thereon and keep within 10% deviation.
Manage the overtime of staff and ensure that costs remain within budget.
Take corrective action as required to ensure performance is within budget parameters.
Ensure equipment is safe for use through inspection, performance test and maintenance upgrades.
Keep up to date with the applicable regulations and laws and constantly review and update statutory documentation.
Plan, lead, organise and control all SHEQ related issues.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
N6 Diploma/S4-N6 Certificate in Electrical/Instrumentation qualification.
Experience:
5 years' experience in Electrical/Instrumentation in a plant maintenance environment of which 2-3 years in supervisory capacity.
