We are unconditional in creating a respectful, inclusive, and safe working environment to ensure that no colleague will be violated or harassed under our watch.Job DescriptionThe Section Engineer is a 2.13.3.1 appointment in terms of the MHS Act and is responsible for providing operational service and support to the Resident Engineer.Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Ensuring adherence to site-specific and overall Anglo American standards.Multi-disciplinary team managementStrategic Asset management including planned maintenance and common reliability practicesSafety ManagementLabour structure and training managementEffective Budgeting Controls (OPEX and CAPEX)Management of Major shutdownsOversee plant projects (within limit of authority)Ensuring adherence to Legal complianceManage plant rotables and sparesCarry out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line maintenance.This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Resident Engineer.QualificationsDegree / Diploma in Engineering, Electrical or MechanicalGovernment Certificate of competency in Mines and WorksExperience, Knowledge and Skills3-5 years post GCC Engineering qualification experiencePlant experience will be advantageous (Crushers, conveyors, mills, flotation, and filters, etc)Experience in open cast mining (Drills, shovels, trucks, electrical and water reticulation, etc)Proficient in computer literacy – Microsoft OfficeProficiency in EnglishAdditional InformationWho We AreWe aim to lead the industry by pursuing ever safer and more responsible ways of working, demonstrating integrity and showing care and respect for people and the planet.
