Screening Media Production Manager Apply Location: South Africa, Johannesburg Time Type: Full time Posted On: 6 Days Ago Job Requisition ID: R0069808 Purpose of the Role: To effectively plan, schedule, co-ordinate and control the manufacturing of screening media and related components in line with machine schedules, production orders, and resource requirements to meet all company cost, quality, and output requirements. The Job Responsibilities: Responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring daily and ongoing screening media manufacturing.Plan and request raw material requirements in line with production orders.Create Bill of Material on ERP system in line with drawing requirements.Drive improvement on manufacturing processes, efficiencies, and quality of screening media and related components.Ensure that all materials are available for jobs that are currently on the floor and plan material for new jobs.Ensure supervisors perform quality checks on screening media products and other related parts.Provide clear instructions to supervisors towards deadline dates and allowable hours necessary to meet completion deadlines.Make management decisions affecting work output.Ensure best maintenance practices are followed on screening media equipment and machinery and ensure equipment is in good working order and safe to use.Coach and guide supervisors on job procedures.Communicate effectively with shift supervisors.Ensure employees are motivated and working efficiently.Maintain discipline in the working area to avoid non-professional activities.Provide a positive "can do" approach to management while leading teams by example.Ensure that all housekeeping is up to standard and free of hazards.Ensure all staff abide by health and safety requirements including the use of appropriate PPE where and when required.Ensure workers follow safe work practices.Enforce health and safety regulations.Correct unsafe acts and conditions.Conduct continuous risk assessments to ensure a safe workshop environment.Ensure that only authorized, adequately trained operators operate the equipment.Operate within the health and safety requirements as prescribed by the Company and OHSAct. Qualifications & Experience Requirements: Grade 12 certificate or N3 Mechanical.Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering Diploma.Management or other relevant Training/courses.Minimum 3 to 5 years of managerial experience in a similar field.Substantial experience within injection molding and polyurethane molding industry. Other Requirements & Competencies: Computer Literacy – Microsoft Office.Basic understanding of screening media products.Must be flexible and self-reliant.Sound judgment.Problem-solving ability.Understanding the importance of time management.Listening and logic interpretation.Follow-through ability to complete tasks.Ability to work under pressure.Honesty.Attention to detail.Accuracy.Strong technical understanding of how injection and casted parts are manufactured.Awareness of health and safety requirements.Ability to work independently and in a team.Good eye/hand coordination.
