Sawmill – Production Manager (Dry mills) Nelspruit, Rneg + Ben Grade 12B.Tech (Wood Tech), National Diploma (Wood Technology), BSc (Wood Technology)Minimum of 5 – 10 Years experience in sawmill dry mill production EnvironmentMust be prepared to work shifts and/or overtime from time to time.Good knowledge of wood drying practices and controls.Knowledge of SANS Standards Advantageous (i.e., Structural Board Grading).Knowledge of OHS Act.Responsibilities: Manage the Dry Mill from Destacking Section through to Dispatch (Minimum 5 – 10 Years)Advanced knowledge ofProduction of Dry MillsPlanningProduction processesEnsure production/productivity targets are met –Finger-jointPlaner operationsManage the Dispatch loading planInteract/advise with Dry Mill Manager (& Wet Mill Manager as needed) on production planning to ensure that loading schedule is successfully implementedInteract with HODs to maximise value and volume recovery throughout the Dry Mill production processInteract with Maintenance Manager & Responsible Dry Mill Fitter to ensure that all PM schedules are applied/up to dateEnsure effective planning of the Dry Mill in line with production orders to meet monthly targetsManage operating / transport expenditures to be within budgetCapex projects (Amount of CAPEX)Assist in efficient management of Dry Mill production planning
