One of our clients within the Chemicals & Adhesives industry is currently looking for results-driven sales representatives to join their dynamic team in the Free State region.
The role of a Sales Representative is to build profitable sales by selling the Company's products to new and existing customers. Reporting to the National Sales Manager at Head Office, the Sales Representative will be key in helping to drive opportunities through prospecting, cold calling and face to face visits.
This role would suit an individual that is passionate about learning sales and customer service, and who thrives in a team environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain an agreed level of pro-active contact with both existing and prospective customers.
- Pro-actively seek new business by targeting the Company's existing customer base and prospective customers.
- Complete market research and monitor competitor activity.
- Maximise sales by continually expanding orders and up selling on all incoming and outgoing enquiries.
- Meet and exceed the agreed specific performance objectives for the Company as a whole.
- Liaise between Internal Sales and customers to efficiently answer general enquiries concerning deliveries, production and any technical queries.
- Remain up to date on all new products introduced to the Company's product portfolio.
- Promptly submit orders to the Internal Sales team to ensure customer requests are honoured
- Liaise on a daily basis with your colleagues and update them on any developments in your work, ensuring a high level of team relationships exist.
- Provide Management with sales reports and related information as requested.
- Ensure that all customer complaints, issues and queries reach a successful and appropriate conclusion. Where relevant, escalate matters to Head Office.
- Participate in training sessions with more experienced members of the sales team.
- Adhere to all Company procedures, values and policies so that you provide an accurate representation of the Company to all potential and current customers.

Managing the relationship between the Company and the customer is a big responsibility. The links that you build and the actions you take will determine our success today and in the future. Treat your customers as partners and challenge them to grow their business with our brands.
- In-Depth Product / Brand Knowledge: Our Company's brand should be at the heart of everything that you do as a Sales Representative. Our brands, suppliers and customers are the Company's biggest assets; you should have intimate knowledge of their values and positioning. You will be representing brands every day and how you approach your role should be in-line with the values of our brand.
SALES REPRESENTATIVE - PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Personality: This is a role for somebody dynamic, self-motivated, and has the ability to demonstrate a methodical, organised and flexible approach to work. The job requires a person who is able to plan, organise and prioritise their work load in order to meet deadlines.
- Personal Situation: Able to commute independently, with a valid license. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required.
- Specific Job Skills: Able to communicate coherently - both verbally and via written media. Able to multi-task, has strong presentation skills and can work effectively as a team player.
