The sales representative's role (based in Cape Town) is to manage and develop the sales of the Company's products in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, parts of the Northern Cape and Namibia by selling to an existing customer base and developing new customer sales. This will include regular travel to and within the regions.
As an external sales representative, you will be the face of Technoswitch in the field, driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring our clients receive the best solutions for their fire safety needs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies to attract new business and expand the customer base.Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients.Recommend appropriate solutions based on customer needs, ensuring compliance with relevant fire safety regulations and standards.Provide customers with quotations, product literature, and stock availability and assist with account queries.Negotiate pricing and contract terms in line with company policies.Proactively follow up on statuses of quotations and orders with customers.Ensure account and contact information on the ERP system is kept up to date.Provide exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction, repeat business, and referrals.Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations.Stay informed about market trends, competitors, and emerging fire detection and suppression technologies, and report findings to the Sales Manager.Work closely with other departments, i.e. finance, administration, logistics, marketing, technical support, etc, to ensure customer requirements are met or exceeded.Track and maintain leads, opportunities, and sales pipelines in the ERP system.Regularly report on sales activities, opportunities, and market conditions to the sales manager.Assist with marketing activities (product launches, exhibitions, etc.) when needed.Technical Support Ensure product knowledge is maintained to provide basic advice on system applications, design, and first-level technical support.General Ensure all company policies and relevant procedures are followed.Assist with tasks related to the company operations that might fall outside the indicated duties and responsibilities.Requirements Proven track record in external sales, preferably in the fire safety, security, or related industries.Strong understanding of fire detection, suppression, and control systems (or a willingness to quickly learn the technical aspects of the products).Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to engage with clients at all levels.Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.Self-motivated and target-driven with a passion for achieving sales goals.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software.Valid driver's license, vehicle and willingness to travel as required.Preferred Experience Two to three years experience in sales in either of the following sectors:Fire safety, security, information technology, construction, technology, electrical, electronic, mechanical or engineering.Technical background or experience in selling technical equipment.REPORTING Cape Town Branch Manager LOCATION This position is based at our Cape Town office: Tyger Terraces II, Block 2B, DJ Wood Street, Bellville Business Park, Bellville, 7530
