Our leading FMCG client is actively looking for a dynamic Sales / Branch Manager for their Empangeni operation. Role with cover the North Coast area and report into the Divisional Executive
Key Responsibilities: Manage the small team at the branch and oversee the Stores and Distribution functions on site. Coordinate stock and deliveries from Pinetown to the warehouse, ensuring efficient stock management on site. Oversee Health & Safety (H&S), ISO, and Food Safety compliance for the branch. Handle property maintenance and security for the branch. Conduct day-to-day customer visits and manage key accounts. Source new customers and business opportunities. Effectively manage sales to exceed sales budgets. Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers. Identify and create new opportunities within the industry. Monitor sales activities, customer interactions, and competitor actions proactively. Present professional price proposals in writing to all customers. Develop sales budgets in collaboration with the Executive team. Report weekly on sales performance. Interface with production, planning, and design departments. Ensure effective stock management and minimize obsolescence costs. Communicate and address customer requirements and complaints promptly. Manage admin, consumables, and other branch requirements. Ensure all team activities align with overall branch objectives. Requirements: Understanding of the Rigid Plastic Packaging market is advantageous. Essential understanding of packaging. Proficiency in computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; SAP is a benefit). Ability to work proactively, think laterally, and analyze situations effectively. Strong organizational and time management skills. Competency in budgeting. Minimum education: Matric; a Sales and Marketing qualification is advantageous. 4 to 6 years of external sales experience. Proven ability to close deals efficiently and effectively. Ability to interact with all levels of employees, including senior management. Valid driver's license (Code 08). Experience managing a team; experience in Stock or Logistics is advantageous.
