Our client, market leader in the manufacturing / FMCG sector is looking for a Sales Manager based in Empangeni PLEASE NOTE: Our client is ideally wanting a locally (or surrounding areas) based candidate or a candidate who grew up on the North Coast, now living elsewhere and interested in moving back to the Empangeni area
The successful candidate will look after Sales (new business and key accounts) and manage a small team
The role will be 70% external sales and 30% branch and people management
Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee a small team at the branch and manage the on-site Stores and Distribution functionsCoordinate stock transfers and deliveries to the warehouse, and handling stock management on siteManage health, safety, ISO standards, and food safety protocols for the branchOversee property maintenance and security for the branchEngage with customers regularly and manage key accountsSource and acquire new customers and business opportunitiesDrive sales performance and exceed sales targetsBuild strong relationships with new and existing customersIdentify and capitalise on industry opportunitiesProactively track sales trends, customer needs, and competitor activitiesCreate and present professional price proposals to customersCollaborate with leadership to develop sales budgetsProvide weekly sales reportsCoordinate with production, planning, and design departmentsEnsure efficient stock management to minimize obsolescence costsAddress customer needs and complaints promptly and effectivelyManage the team's administrative, consumables, and branch-related needsEducation and Experience:
MatricSales and Marketing qualification advantageousProven track record of at least 4 to 6 years doing external salesExperience in managing a team (experience in stock or logistics would be advantageousAbility to do budgetingDrivers license a pre-requisiteKnowledge and Skills: Ability to work proactively, think laterally and analytically
