SALES MANAGER (Gauteng)POSITION OVERVIEW To formulate selling strategy, develop, and execute on an assigned Channel to expand business to gain incremental sales and market share on company objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESManage sales and build a solid pipeline of qualified prospects to achieve sales budget on an assigned channel.Formulate and implement plans for an assigned channel to achieve approved objectives regarding volume, sales, margin, market share, and financial goals.Report on the achievement of sales orders and gross margin targets for the financial year, monthly or as required by management.Target new accounts and develop sales strategies for the selected channel.Maintain good relationships with customers, distributors, and business partners.Conduct sales presentations, draft proposals, and negotiate with customers to win significant sales orders.Maintain a database of clients and grow each new sale into strong account references.Provide sales forecasts for the assigned channel to the sales team periodically.Continuously promote products and services offered by the company.Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to achieve company objectives.Prepare annual and monthly sales budgets.Supervise and monitor sales activities of Sales Representatives and ensure performance against sales targets.Gather market information regarding trends, competitive activity, and requirements for product development.Lead and manage a team to ensure sales and collection targets are met.Monitor customer promotion calendar & forecast – Order vs Forecast.Analyze scan sales as benchmarks and assist in post-mortem of major promotions.Provide training for Sales Reps and Technical Advisors, and develop reporting procedures to inform stakeholders.Promote a safe and healthy environment within the company.Carry out other ad hoc duties as assigned by management.JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Sales & Marketing.Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, with at least 2 years in a sales management role.Computer literate (Microsoft Office suite).Good communication skills in English and other SA Official Regional Languages.Strong relationship-building and business partnering skills.Well-developed written communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.Previous experience in a large FMCG environment in a leadership position.Extensive experience in baking from a sales & technical perspective.Able to work independently and demonstrate entrepreneurship.REQUIRED COMPETENCIESCollaborating Effectively: Ability to build formal and informal relationship networks.Communicating Effectively: Delivering communications that generate a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.Driving Performance: Showing ambition and going the extra mile in achieving results.Improving Continuously: Passionate about achieving high quality standards.Managing Customer Needs: Eager to find out what customers want and act accordingly.Ethical, honest, and demonstrating utmost integrity.OFFERPuratos provides a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment that encourages initiatives and ideas contributing to the company's success.
