The Opportunity: Roche Diagnostics has a vacancy for a Sales Lead for the South Africa region. Join our management team as a dynamic leader responsible for driving strategic planning and operational excellence. You will shape the department's long-term strategy, manage sales and profitability targets, foster strong stakeholder relationships, lead all aspects of financial management, ensure compliance with governance policies, and lead a high-performing team. Strategic and Operational Management
Contribute to the Organizational Strategic Plan: Understand the vision, develop key strategic inputs, and update annually.
Develop Long-term Department Strategy: Conduct research, draft the strategy, and align it with the overall organizational strategy annually.
Create Operational Plans: Identify key projects, set targets, lead franchise inputs, and compile integrated brand and operational plans annually.
Manage Operational Performance: Track performance, report anomalies, and implement corrective actions monthly.
Lead Knowledge and Communication Sharing: Develop inputs, prepare communications, and engage with international Roche product teams and stakeholders.
Sales Target Management: Analyze market opportunities, align with organizational strategy, and set annual sales targets.
Performance Monitoring: Track and review weekly sales progress, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Profitability Oversight: Monitor performance against monthly targets, addressing concerns as they arise.
Resource Planning: Assess sales pipelines, prepare resource business cases, and secure necessary resources annually.
Business Opportunities Review: Evaluate deal feasibility, identify risks, and approve new opportunities.
Tender Process Management: Review and approve tender documents based on feasibility.
Sales Excellence: Implement global sales training programs, manage CRM tools, and identify improvement opportunities.
New Business Access: Identify and remove barriers in cooperation with Medical, Market Access, and Business Development teams.
Clinical Sales Strategy: Define strategy, resource the clinical sales team, set targets, and monitor performance regularly.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
Develop and manage relationships with C Suite customers by understanding their needs, engaging and providing information and support, providing solutions and feedback and building rapport.
Identify and develop new relationships by building networks, developing relationships and growing opportunities for engagement.
Develop the department budget by identifying activities and costs, preparing the budget and submitting it annually and as required.
Manage expenditure by tracking spend against budget allocations, approving expenditure, address any budget variances and provide feedback monthly and as required.
Governance
Prepare and present reports for Board and Sub-Committees, address queries, and implement decisions.
Develop and implement policies and procedures, review and draft policies, and manage their annual and occasional updates.
Monitor and ensure compliance with policies, resolve issues of non-compliance, and track improvements.
Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes, analyze their impact, integrate changes into policies, and communicate updates effectively.
Define staff needs, review workload and develop job profiles.
Recruit, select, and appoint staff as required.
Develop and manage induction programs; support new staff development.
Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and address non-performance issues.
Identify learning opportunities and support staff development.
Implement and ensure compliance with HR policies.
Who You Are as our Ideal Candidate You hold a completed University degree in a Health Sciences, Commercial or related field.You have at least 10 years experience in the Pharma environment. IVD industry experience is highly desirable. You have at least 8 years experience in management with at least 2 years experience in executive / strategic management.Other Requirements: Strong knowledge in commercial business management and the health care environment. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in achieving results, commercialisation, resource management, and strategic agility.
