Sales Executive – Plastic Packaging – Gauteng General Description / Job Purpose:To market and sell Plastics products to Customers.
Maintain and nurture relationships with existing customers through office or site visits, meetings, check-up calls, and follow-up emails.
To identify, engage, and service new customers through referrals, networking, and cold calling.Responsibilities:Sales Growth: Drive sales growth within the representative's designated area.Budget Management: Establish and maintain personal annual and monthly budgets based on tonnage, turnover, and margin.Monthly Call Planning: Develop a monthly call planner and provide weekly updates during sales meetings on:Planned vs. actual calls.Invoiced orders vs. received orders.Sales orders placed with the factory, three months in advance.Growth percentage of all allocated and prospective customers.Feedback on new customers.Follow-up on outstanding issues from sales meeting minutes.Weekly sales analysis review and feedback on low-margin sales.Customer Engagement: Make weekly calls to all customers and regularly report on market trends.National Accounts: Visit national account branches within the representative's area.Product Marketing: Promote new products to all customers.Order and Product Compliance Management:Order Placement: Place sales orders in compliance with BRC standards.NCR Follow-Up: Address all non-conformance reports (NCRs) according to BRC systems.Customer File Maintenance: Keep all customer files updated as per BRC systems.Compliance Reporting: Report customer complaints in line with BRC systems.Sample Feedback: Provide feedback on samples per customer and product as per BRC system.Artwork Approval: Ensure all artwork is approved before placing orders with the factory.Deliveries: Occasionally perform small deliveries to customers.Stock Management: Conduct stock takes as needed.Email Correspondence: Respond to all email correspondence, both internal and external, in a timely manner.Compliance: Follow reasonable instructions from the management team in accordance with Plastics policies.Additional Duties: Handle other sales-related tasks as assigned by the Sales Manager.Qualifications and Skills Includes:Must have a grade 12 Certificate.
A diploma or degree in Marketing, Sales, Business or related field will be a significant advantage.Must have a valid driver's license.Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Office 365, specifically Excel.At Least 5 years sales experience.
Experience in the following industries will be an advantage: plastics and packaging, mining, manufacturing, agriculture or consumer packaged goods.The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, self-disciplined and responsible, pro-active, resilient, a problem-solver, persuasive and confident.Working conditions:Remote / home office.Official business hours are Monday to Thursday 7H30 to 16H00 and Fridays 7H30 to 15H00.Sales representative may adopt a semi-flexible working schedule in agreement with the Sales Manager as client requirements may require work outside of these hours, as long as the minimum hours per week are maintained and the representative remains available during the official work hours.Annual leave days: 21 Days.Physical requirements:Must be able to travel (away from home for periods of time).Must have own transportation.Must be physically fit to conduct site visits for customers in mining, manufacturing, agricultural and similar industriesDirect reports:To the Sales Manager.
