Howden South Africa Division is looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to provide sales solutions to all mining and industrial customers to add value to the customers infrastructure, existing and or new services and development needs.
What needs to be done?
Sales Targets: Maintain current client relations and establish and promote new clients to grow the business.
Provide ongoing support and assistance to clients, addressing any technical questions or concerns they may have.
Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products or services to existing customers.
Obtain enquiries from clients ensuring all clients' needs are recognized and supported.
Negotiate with clients on equipment requirements, prices and commercial conditions verbally or in writing.
Promote Howden as OEM service provider to clients ensuring Howden footprint is recognized.
Load all prospects onto the business CRM system and manage customer tender pipelines.
Documentation: Responsible for all administration related to the sales function to meet agreed standards.
Reporting: Weekly reporting for the respective sales product lines with key figures such as industries and sales forecast.
Planning of site visits in connection with Aftermarket products and service offerings.
Customer Relations: Develop customer relationships to promote the Howden products with the view to refurbishing and introducing enhancements to existing equipment.
Financial Control: Approve tenders as per the Howden General Operating Manual (GOM).
Responsible for ensuring correct levels of authority are obtained if outside of the specified limits.
Safety Orientation: Comply with ISO 9000 and ISO 45001.
Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls What do you need to bring?
Grade 12/ Matric Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
5- 7 years of technical sales experience in an industrial and mining environment.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Projects.
Exposure to ventilation fans and heavy engineering Knowledge of Rotating Equipment and their operations Customer-facing experience is essential.
Extensive working Knowledge of contracts, preferably NEC and FIDIC Yellow book Good communication and interpersonal skills.
