SUMMARY OF THE ROLE This position is responsible for leading, managing, and further developing the Performance Coatings Business segment operations by developing, communicating, and following up on all relevant Customer Groups, key sales growth strategies, and action plans in order to achieve strategic goals and actively contribute to the performance and result of the company.
Responsibilities: Participate and contribute actively to the Local Management Team by discussing, influencing, and deciding on company strategy in order to drive the company in the right direction and achieve expected results.
The role is based in South Africa with responsibility for Performance Coatings Sales in Angola, Botswana, Madagascar, Mauritius, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Develop and implement business plans for all the individual markets and focus categories, including Dealer and Distributors, Energy, Infrastructure, Mining, Shipping and Yards, EPC, and Applicators.
Lead, develop, and support staff by clearly advocating and communicating ambitions for personal, professional, and career development in line with organizational culture, to ensure sufficient resources and competence to realize the strategy.
Lead, manage, and develop the organization by effectively organizing, delegating, and distributing areas of responsibility and authority using performance management tools to ensure focus, attention, and cost-effective business operations in line with strategic directions.
Monitor and follow up on the business operations of the assigned segments by regular interaction with reporting managers and management teams in order to give adequate and efficient support.
Build and effectively lead a Sales organization through hiring, coaching, and retaining employees by providing skills and competence development programs to enhance and improve skill set, management effectiveness, and sales per salesperson efficiency.
Maintain financial health of the business segment by constant review and ensuring a strong payment collection mechanism to ensure that it is within the acceptable norms.
Manage other functions, such as Sales Support and Marketing etc.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER We are seeking a Sales Director for our Performance Coatings business segment who shall be based in Cape Town or Johannesburg and will lead our sales team and drive revenue growth.
Experience Required University Degree in a relevant field. NACE Certification would be an added advantage. Minimum 4 years of experience in Sales Management or in a similar capacity. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with the key stakeholders. Have a good knowledge of MS Office 365 suite. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively at all levels. Good command of verbal and written English and Afrikaans languages.
