About This Role
Our company is looking to appoint a Sales Manager based in Durban to build on existing service implementations and develop expanded opportunities for continuing sales growth in new communities/cities in SA. This is a progressive opportunity for a dynamic self-starter (ideally with commercial WASH project/services experience) who is keen to make large scale social impact by working with government stakeholders, partners and communities to develop a central role for the company in the off-grid toilet sector in SA. It is also a career development opportunity, with the successful candidate in the running for expanded responsibilities in other emerging markets, subject to success in SA.
Key Outcomes

Deliver on sales growth targets within the 3 designated business units in SA
Continue to develop the current WRC funded HOME project in Durban
Actively seek out further and expandable B2C territories
B2B commercial partnerships that provide high quality Revenue delivery
B2G - create effective partnerships with local/central government institutions, utilities and private sector actors that result in strong support for the company.
Drive a data driven strategic sales/commercial plan for the company in SA

Key Responsibilities

Continue to develop customer relationships and Sales pipelines within existing projects
Develop an effective sales Team to deliver on the Financial Model goals
Continually evaluate Sales performance Target and take appropriate actions
Develop B2B partnerships with local stakeholders across value chain (from regulators to service providers)
Engage with stakeholders to gain a sound understanding of B2C service model
Develop strategies for securing new business opportunities and routes to market in the informal sanitation sector (Non Sewered)
Support market development including access to finance for EM customers
Drive stakeholder engagement, including customer and donor engagement, through briefings, meetings & seminars, accompanied by structured follow up.
Develop effective senior level relationships with appropriate government agencies, utilities and private sector companies
Support key customers and stakeholders with project fundraising and grant management
Maintenance of accurate, current CRM database and associated strategies
Support the Company's commercial operations team on project implementation
Attend and present at key global WASH conferences and continue to engage with contact network

Skills Experience

8+ yrs ecosystem sales (of products that include service models)
Sales Team Management - PLOC
Relevant sector experience (in emerging markets, sanitation sector, or similar e.g., energy, water, financial inclusion, etc)
Success in submitting proposals for funding and/or partnerships
Contract development & negotiation for B2B/B2G sector
High level of presentation skills
Financial acumen ability to assess business and service models
Appropriate university degree (science or business based)
