Our client is seeking a responsible person to Compile our Safety Files to ensure compliance withoccupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines.
The role will be to make sure that all Safety files are compile and has the correct info.
As a Safety Representative the candidate will be responsible to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines, advises on safety topics, conducts risk assessments, and enforces preventative measures to create a safe workplace.
Responsibilities Support the development of OHS policies and programsAdvise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.
)Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measuresReview existing policies and measures and update according to legislationInitiate and organize OHS training of employees and executivesInspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g.
not using protective equipment)Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthyRecord and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle workers compensation claimsPrepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.Conduct health and safety audits.Identify potential hazards, risks, and dangers.Investigate incidents.Make recommendations regarding health and safety.Conduct inspections.Attend health and safety committee meetings.Compile all the safety files.Keep all safety files in place.Job Specification: Making sure all Safety Files are up-to-date.Review effectiveness of health and safety measures.Identify potential hazards and major incidents.Examine causes of incidents.Investigate complaints.Qualifications: Grade 12Valid drivers LicenseSafety representative qualifications3-5 years of working experience in the Safety Environment
