Safety Officer

Job Title: Safety Officer Location: South Africa, Northern Cape, Kgalagadi District Job Type: 5 month Contract, expected to work full-time hours Job Duties: Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in line with industry regulations Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend preventive measures Provide safety training to employees and contractors Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Participate in safety meetings and committees Maintain safety records and documentation Required Qualifications: Relevant Safety Diploma HIRA/First Aid/COMSOC or SAMTRAC certificate Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Experience: Minimum of 5 years working in the mining industry specifically underground mining.
Vertical shaft experience is preferable Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of risk assessment and management Ability to develop and deliver training programmes Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
