Safety Officer

Job Title: Safety Officer Location: Limpopo, Greater Sekhukhune District, Burgersfort Job Type: 24 Month Contract, expected to work full-time hours Job Duties: Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions Provide safety training to employees on various safety topics including hazard identification and control measures Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and procedures Maintain safety records and reports Required Qualifications: SAMTRAC COMSOC1&2 Registration with the South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as a Health and Safety Officer or Professional Proven experience working as a Safety Officer in a mining environment Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience: 10+ years in a safety role, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to mining or similar high-risk industry Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of risk assessment and management Proficiency in MS Office suite Excellent problem-solving abilities
