Overview
Maintain, implement and support SHERQ strategy and systems to assist the plant in term of compliance verification and risk reduction. All activities, roles and responsibilities are aligned to the world class (manufacturing) philosophy, principles and practices.
Qualifications
Matric (with Maths and Science)
Bachelor of Sciences or Bachelor of Technology Degree in a SHERQ related field
Experience
2 - 5 years' experience in Chemical industry
Duties
Maintains the Integrated Management System (IMS):
Provide coaching and support on IMS aspects to customer areas:
Control of documented information
Audit and inspection management
Incident and non-conformance management
Communication and awareness
Planning and monitoring of processes and activities
Promote risk based thinking on prevention
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Management review of system performance
Control the quality of the data and usage of IMS electronic systems:
IsoMetrix
SharePoint
MES
Qlikview
Ensure compliance with legal requirements, standards, policies, procedures and other requirements:
Conduct plant inspections to identify legal non-conformances
Coach on compliance issues
Facilitate hazard and critical task/activity identification (activity based risk assessment)
Facilitate the review of task procedures and work instructions
Facilitate and confirm PTO evaluations
Ensure and confirm HIRA and clearance certificate issued
Consolidate and analyse SHERQ indicators:
Create effective reporting routes
Ensure all indicators are consolidated in time
Analyse the indicators and provide risk focused issues for solutions and actions
Conduct quality check on data
Feedback to management on indicator status in order to ensure KPI improvement
Increase awareness and competency through SHERQ training:
Identify and advise on training needs analyses and training recommendations, especially to resolve identified system and process competence shortfalls
Create and sustain SHERQ awareness through communication mediums
Facilitate the review of task procedure
Conduct selected training: Plant specific and Classroom
Conduct regular SHERQ inspections:
Schedule inspections with key customers and suppliers
Conduct routine and ad-hoc inspections as needed
Report on non-conformances, waste and spillage, physical conditions, etc.
Ensure corrective actions are implemented
Follow up to ensure action effectiveness
