Safety Officer

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join their dynamic construction team in Mantjiesfontein for a 3 month contract period.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting and ensuring safety practices on-site, aiming to create a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.
As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in implementing and monitoring safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting safety awareness throughout the organization.
Your expertise will help us comply with health and safety regulations while reducing work-related injuries and accidents.
You will collaborate closely with project managers, site workers, and other stakeholders to provide guidance, training, and support in all safety-related matters.
Strong interpersonal skills will be essential as you will be communicating safety policies and procedures effectively.
The role requires a committed individual who is passionate about keeping a safe workplace and ensuring everyone adheres to the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Develop and implement safety training programs for all staff and subcontractors.
Monitor and assess workplace hazards and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including reports and records of incidents.
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards on-site.
Collaborate with project management to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
Promote safety awareness through toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Requirements Proven experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry or similar field.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry standards.
Certification in Occupational Health and Safety or similar qualification.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and collaboration.
Ability to identify and assess potential environmental and safety hazards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective safety strategies.
Proficient in MS Office and safety management software.
