Safety Officer

We are currently looking for a Safety Officer. This is a 12-month contract position based in Middelburg Mpumalanga.Minimum RequirementsRelevant Degree or DiplomaCOMSOC 1&2SAMTRACMust have at least 5 years of experience as a safety officer in the mining environmentMust be able to carry a legal appointmentMust be from the Middelburg areaJob DescriptionBe a custodian of the planning meetings to ensure that robust technical discussions are had.Weekly site visit (1) day a week, can increase as operation expand.Attendance to monthly planning meetings and giving input into the planning deck.Responsible for timeous and accurate Safety reporting to relevant internal stakeholders and external authorities.Arrange and host monthly VFL (DivSHE) visits.Providing inputs into daily / weekly / monthly SHE topics.Facilitate incident / accident investigations and manage close out of actions.Review classifications of injuries.Co-ordinate and participate in safety audits for Operations / Service Department.Maintain baseline, issue-based risk assessments & applicable Bowties with Critical Control Verifications applicable to the operation.Assume the duties of the Contractor Management System administrator to upload and approve documents.Conduct site audits for Contractor management.Conduct overview compliance audits on the Contractor Management System.
