Safety Officer

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE- Grade 12 with Safety Management Diploma as a minimum preferred- COMSOC 1&2 / SAMTRAC- 5 Years minimum proven track record discipline – specific and supervisory experience- All MQA unit standards or recognized in making up for fully qualified Health and Safety Officer working with combination of MHSA as well as OHSA- Plant (Chrome and PGM recovery) experience- Training experience will be advantageous- Computer Literacy including Presentation skills- Practical knowledge of and experience in Safety Management- Practical knowledge of pertinent SHE legislation- Risk assessments, HIRA, RA Software used in the industry- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices- Understanding of ISO45001:2018- Campaign and education orientated with the ability to manage such programs in its entirety- Engineering trade will be advantageous- Conduct workplace inspections and legal compliance audits- Compile daily / weekly and monthly SHE reports- Ensure all incidents and unsafe acts are reported- Facilitate investigations- Risk Assessments- Analyze / Evaluate the quality of risk assessments, PTOs, Safe declarations, Pre-use inspections- Drive the functioning of Health and Safety Reps- Follow through on actions, closing out reports- Provide site induction and on the job training- Assess contractor H&S files- Address non-conformances / compliances- Report and record keeping of high standard- Present a professional image of the SHERQ department- Medical examination follow ups and addressing issues that may arise- PPE Issuing and control- Be able to assist with stock take on all H&S equipment e.g. PPE- Drafting of proceduresSalary between R65,000 - R69,000pmPlease send your CV to ****** or ******
