Educational Qualifications:Grade 12 CertificateNational Diploma in Safety Management (preferable) or equivalent and / or at least SAMTRACOHS Act, ISO, Environmental, Noise & Energy– knowledge of requirementsKnowledge of all relevant safety systems and procedures (DIFR, IOD reporting etc.)Experience and Requirements:A minimum of 3 years' work-related experience in a manufacturing environment. MS Office Suite ( especially MS Word and MS Excel)Computer Literacy (Microsoft Outlook)Good communication skillsBusiness Presentation and report writing skillsOrganization skillsTeam WorkAdhere to the UGR's and Values of the CompanyDuties:Ensure that the provisions of the various regulatory requirements (i.e. OSH Act, ISO, Environmental, Noise & Energy) and it regulations, pertinent to the site and its processes are complied with in the workplaceEnsure that the provisions of environmental legislation, pertinent to the site and its activities and processes are complied withProvide a comprehensive SHEE consulting service and advice to the manufacturing plants in consultation with the SHEEQ Manager.Investigate and report on incidents in the workplace and devise and implement strategies for preventative measuresConduct regular HIRA as well as environmental aspects and impact assessments and update SWP's and SOP's; set up regular meetings to close-out such findings towards continuous improvementAssist with annual SHEE induction on all employees and do incidental SHEE Induction throughout the year/ as well as training of employeesConduct monthly housekeeping assessments, communicate to relevant supervision/managers and set up weekly meetings to close-out such findings towards continuous improvementAssist with scheduled internal audits on activities and processes of the site and report on findings and improvements of such auditsCompile safety programs to continuously improve the SHEE standard of all areasPractice safe working techniques and implement such via safety bulletins, toolbox talks, etc.Implement and maintain health and safety standardsEstablish a cordial and professional relationship with employees.Maintain compliance with all safety regulationsConduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniquesStandardize health and safety in order to remain consistentIdentify hazardous waste and disposing of it correctlyPromote safety initiativesCompile and maintain relevant registers to ensure complianceDocument staff information, minutes of meetings, and reports compiled for managementRegularly inspect equipmentDaily, Weekly, Fortnightly and Monthly inspectionsDevise action plans to deal with non- compliances and follow through to implementation thereofAssist in operational readiness of all areas ready for internal and external SHEE auditsInspection of contactor Health and Safety Files readiness and drive complianceIssuing of work permits to staff and contractorsAttend daily production QSB meetings and feedback SHEE information in daily SHEEQ meetingAttend weekly strategic meetings with the SHEEQ ManagerAttend monthly HSE meetings and drive implementation of SHEEQ deadlinesSupervise and support the SHE representatives towards improvements overallSupport any other SHEQ related matters as instructed by the Site Compliance manager, Duty Manager or manufacturing Director of the siteCompile a roster and execute daily audits to ensure maintenance of the SHEE requirements and adherence to operational standards thereof. (Safety, ergonomics, environmental)Support and maintain Document Control procedures - Investigation of IOD's, accidents and injuries and attend all relevant training in lieu thereof as instructedConduct job hazard analysis and improve relevant processes in terms of hazard mitigation / eliminationSupport the various shifts with all SHEE related requirements and be an ambassador of the SHEE Department in all aspects; set the exampleOffice Support and Administration:  Assist with daily administration functions as required to foster teamwork and service excellencePerform any other duties that are commensurate with the position and the needs of the departmentAssist with the updating of the online filing system (Share Point)Assist with maintenance of various departmental safety non-conformances, records, graphs, business plans shortcomings, initiatives to foster continuous improvements and support as instructed by the SHEQ Manager#J-18808-Ljbffr
