Key Responsibilities:Policy Development and Compliance:Develop, review, and update safety policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation and standards, including OSHA and ISO safety standards.Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis:Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses across various operational areas.Identify potential safety risks, propose engineering controls, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.Safety Audits and Inspections:Perform regular safety audits, inspections, and evaluations of facilities, equipment, and processes.Document findings and collaborate with management to address deficiencies and prevent future occurrences.Incident Investigation and Reporting:Lead investigations of workplace incidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of incidents, corrective actions, and safety metrics.Safety Training and Education:Develop and deliver training programs for employees on safety protocols, emergency response, and equipment use.Promote safety awareness through workshops, toolbox talks, and hands-on training sessions.Continuous Improvement and Project Management:Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety practices and mitigate risk.Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving overall workplace safety and environmental impact.Emergency Preparedness and Response:Develop and coordinate emergency response plans, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, and first aid protocols.Conduct regular drills and ensure preparedness for potential safety incidents.Qualifications and Skills Required:Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety engineering or similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA, ISO 45001, and local health and safety legislation.Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is advantageous.Proficiency in risk assessment and hazard analysis methodologies.Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.Proficiency in MS Office, with strong skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
