Scope of Work Implement initiatives to improve Security performance throughout South African Operations. Collate and report business performance in relation to Security matrices throughout South African Operations. Implement improvements at the operation level to ensure compliance with the TH Asset Protection Standard this standard takes cognisance of the companys objective of protecting its people and business assets. Providing support by making use of the Threat and Vulnerability Risk Assessments (TRV) process when TH operations require assistance on asset protection risks related to land invasions and Business Forum related impacts. Roles and responsibilities Management of security contracts and the performance of security service providers & all security staff within all South African Operations. Assist the Security Specialist in developing security policies, protocols, and procedures and implementing them in all operations within SA Operations. Gathering security intelligence, notifying senior management, and implementing preventative measures to mitigate the security risk. Collaborating with SHE and General Managers to determine security needs at the different THL sites and provide the necessary guidance. Investigate all security threats, incidents, and breaches and notify senior management of the findings, and provide senior management with mitigation measures. Be informed on industry security changes and improvements and develop and improve security improvement plans. Make use of technology to improve security at our operations. Ensure the site CCTV Systems are reviewed and functional, access control equipment is in working order and the perimeter fencing, gates, and walls are maintained. Look at opportunities to improve the monitoring of CCTV. Responsible for the overall management of outgoing and incoming assets, including the investigation of asset losses, including sugar loss Assist the sites with traffic management with an emphasis on securing products and other company assets. Coordinate security staff when responding to emergencies and alarms in line with site contingency plans, Network with the local CPF, SAPS, and business forums and notify senior management of any emerging threats. Assisting in developing the annual security awareness training provided to the organization and rolling out training in all SA Operations. Train, coach, and mentor security employees Remain updated and advise SA operations regarding current and future Security-related trends and develop and implement mitigation measures. Manage all security aspects that include Physical security, Asset protection, security risk assessment and management, and adherence to security policies and procedures. Provide technical support to all operations regarding security and provide them with direction in achieving their Security related outcomes. Constantly review and analyse Security statistics and develop interventions to improve security performance in the organisation and ensure that operations implement respective strategies. Assist the Security Specialist in responding to external security threats and develop processes and implement plans to ensure that the organisation is protected against these threats. This includes de-escalation control measures to protect the organisation. Qualifications & Experience Security Management Diploma or equivalent. Certificate in Basic Investigation Basic Safety, Health & Environmental Training 5 years experience as a Security Manager Experience in Managing diverse teams (External Service Providers) A good understanding of Community Security Criminals Procedure Act, Security Officers Act, Law of Evidence Labour Relations Act and OHS Act Grade A - Registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) Valid Firearm competency Certificate Contractor Safety A team player - Can influence people from different teams to work together and deliver desired tasks even if they do not have a common reporting structure. Good communicator - Communicates effectively and shares information using appropriate platforms at all levels within the structure of the organization Stakeholder engagement Establishes and strengthens effective relationships with people within and outside the business. In particular this would include employees, management, regulatory authorities, major service providers, worker leadership and community participation forums.
