DescriptionThis role requires a consultant to give expert advice on reward, within the context of our culture and our remuneration philosophy, using remuneration research tools and benchmarking.
The role further requires the consultant to manage, co-ordinate, facilitate and participate in the annual salary and bonus review cycle.
Key relationships in the role include: Global Head of Reward; SA Head of P&O; Reward team; Staff Share Schemes; Benefits and Payroll; P&O Leads; P&O Consultants; Careers and Finance.
Experience, skills and capabilityRemuneration Research - The successful candidate will need to:• Track remuneration and reward trends in the market• Research best practice around benefits and rewards• Investigate new remuneration models based on business needs• Compare salary and benefits for new job offersAnnual Reward Review:• Project management of the annual reward process• Communication with People Consultants, Divisional Heads and Line Managers• Participation in divisional iteration processes• Consolidation and analysis of proposals, followed by preparation of schedules for final approval by the Investec Group Remuneration CommitteeRemuneration Benchmarking• Participating in salary surveys by mapping individuals to comparable jobs in the survey in consultation with the line manager and People Consultants.• Establish the comparability of jobs internally/externally, evaluate and group them according to their levels of responsibility, influence and importance.
Then research what comparable jobs pay in the market as well as doing internal comparisons and gives recommendations on pay for individuals• Analyze data from salary surveys sources to determine competitiveness both internally and externally as well as market demands to get a sense of skills scarcity.• Do ad hoc specifically requested benchmarking by tapping into other external sources employment agencies and other remuneration professionalsAnnual Reporting• Contribute to the preparation of the remuneration sections of the Investec Bank Limited and DLC Annual Report & AccountsShare Schemes• Work closely with the Staff Shares team to deliver the employee shares propositionData Management• Ownership of Reward data management • Working with the P&O Tech division to ensure relevant systems are functioning appropriately and lead on system updates when required Investec Culture At Investec we look for intelligent, energetic people filled with passion, integrity and curiosity.
