Job Purpose The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to manage and supervise specialized road worker maintenance teams, with specific reference to a Grader, as well as assistance with duties attached to the maintenance and construction activities of the Proclaimed Road Network.
Minimum Requirements Grade 10 (or equivalent qualification); A minimum of 3 years relevant experience; A valid (Code EC) driving licence with a professional driving permit (PDP).
Recommendation Extensive experience and knowledge of Grader; Safety precautions whilst operating machinery and equipment; Operating general minor and large construction machines; Management and Supervision of staff; Usage of small tools and equipment; Tar and gravelled road surfaces.
Key Performance Areas Management of Grader Team during construction and maintenance of the Proclaimed Road Network; Operating of various types of machinery and equipment; Supervision and utilization of labourers to ensure effective management of subordinates; Perform generic administrative functions pertaining to the post.
Competencies Good understanding of operating of construction related machines; Skills needed: Supervisory skills; Communication (verbal and written); Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; Ability to work in a team; Self-motivated.
Remuneration R 183 279 per annum (Salary Level 4)

Notes Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting.
