Road Freight / Account Manager Port Elizabeth - Eastern Cape Our client a Transport Management company requires a Road Freight Controller for their offices based in Port Elizabeth, experienced in the Road Freight industry. You must also be an Account Manager and manage your existing business (build on this) and also seek out new opportunities. Responsibilities Above all the Account Manager - Road freight needs to be completely customer focused always offering the highest level of customer care to both suppliers and partners. Always looking for new opportunities and upselling to existing clients. Ensuring the physical movement of contracted loads run smoothly by arranging transport mode required for customers, ensuring the load is viable, calculating all costs and contacting hauliers, broker agents and customers agreeing rates to maximise profitability. Arranges any necessary documents and is in charge of the quality assurance and safe arrival of any goods. You must be in constant communication with suppliers and receivers to coordinate loads effectively, ensuring that Proof of Delivery documents (PODs) are signed for received as soon as possible. To ensure jobs are correctly logged and any issues are liaised with the appropriate people to ensure SLA's are met at all times. You must ensure that set company objectives are on the forefront of your daily operations helping the Company to achieve its goals Work closely with finance, accounting and other departments, reporting directly to the Operations manager. Requirements Matric 3 years in the Road freight / Transport industry Experience in road haulage, transporting client loads Dealing with contracts, quotes and delivery documentation Customer service experience, with excellent negotiation skills Computer literate MS packages (word/excel) Experience processing documents on Systems base programmes
