Risk Officer - OperationsWe're excited to offer a Risk Officer - Operations position for our client in the banking and insurance industry. In this role, you'll play a vital role in safeguarding the organization by identifying and managing any threats to the achievement of our client's business objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesOngoing management and improvement of the risk management framework for the organization.Overseeing and engaging with internal stakeholders, making recommendations, and implementing appropriate risk control actions.Monitoring, evaluating, challenging, reviewing, and reporting on the organization's success in managing its risks.Assist in identifying and updating major risks affecting the operational function and guiding the Business units in identifying their key risk indicators.Monitor internal controls to ensure their adequacy and effectiveness and assist in the identification of appropriate enhancements to address identified weaknesses.Provide an effective administrative function to support the risk management function.Support the Head of Risk Management in the development and updating of risk management policies and procedures.Conduct research when required.Compile and submit all required and ad hoc reports timely and accurately.Assist in the maintenance of a culture that emphasizes and demonstrates the importance of effective Risk Management to all staff.Monitor and control the internal assessment process to ensure compliance with policy and procedures.Assist in the coaching of employees in the use of relevant operational risk management tools.Conduct risk assessments of the operational functions on an ongoing basis.Conduct risk management training for internal stakeholders.Involvement in the digitization of the risk tools (e.g., Power BI, Exclaim).Involvement in the process risk management to oversee the frequency of process reviews, process documentation timelines, and accessibility of process documents.Promote risk awareness to prepare the organization for emerging risks.Execute specific deep dives or investigations to better understand risks, problems, or incidents in the organization.Assess opportunities for continuous process innovation to prevent deviation trends and control gaps.Provide risk support to project teams in assessing their processes, procedures, and identifying associated risks and controls.Perform risk monitoring for new service implementation and operationalization processes.Contribute to potential reviews for inclusion in the annual audit plan.Facilitate and complete assigned internal audit function reviews.Coordinate management responses across the organization for assigned reviews and report on findings.Assist in the preparation of the Combined Assurance Reports.Build ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure excellent business delivery.Deliver effective and consistent service to stakeholders.Participate and contribute to a culture that builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback, and provides exceptional client service.Facilitate presentations to customers and stakeholders.Profile..
