Description: The risk officer will support the risk management and compliance functions of Africa Health Research Institute. This role involves implementing and maintaining risk and compliance policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and working closely with various departments to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements at the institute. Reports to the risk and compliance specialist.
Overview of Duties: Enterprise risk managementMonitoring and reportingConflict of interest and gift register maintenanceSupport and collaborationMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in commerce/internal auditing/risk management/law (or related fields).Professional qualification such as risk management certificate, compliance management certificate or CIA.Minimum Experience: 3 years' experience in risk management and compliance and/or internal audit.Experience in non-profit organisation governance would be an added advantage.Strong analytical and organisational skills would be an added advantage.Experience in a research or academic environment would be an added advantage.Knowledge Required: Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.Knowledge of risk management concepts and principles.Good understanding of internal control systems and risk management activities.Good written and oral communication skills.Ability to support a team effort.Ability to persuade and influence others.Ability to work under minimal supervision.Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Results driven.Worker Type: Employee
