SAMTRAC Certificate or equivalent occupational SHE training.National Diploma or equivalent in Health & Safety ManagementMinimum of 5 years' relevant experienceNational Senior Certificate / MatricFirst Aid level 2 Basic CertificateEnvironmental & Quality qualification an advantageComputer literacy, with MS Office (excel intermediate to advanced)Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the regulationsExperience with AEL and MHI IdealExperience of implementing Health and Safety Systems in a highly technical, complex industrial environment is essentialExposure to and understanding of implementation of ISO 45001 / 14001 and ISO 9001Well experienced in Company standards and programs requirements in order to pass on knowledge and requirements to others.Must have experience in the management of contractors in line with the OHSA and Construction RegulationsExperience working in an environment with Hazardous Chemicals would be idealResponsibilities:Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act guidelines and provides advice on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations whilst on the constant lookout for violations on site.The Risk/Safety Officer is a responsible individual who ensures compliance and focuses on prevention.To establish a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.
