MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe role of the Risk Officer is to assist the Risk Manager (RM) in executing the risk program and providing another line of defence in protecting enterprise value and evaluating performance exclusively from a risk perspective.Description Of TasksEngage in the implementation of the bank's risk management function.Engage in the implementation and maintenance of an ERM Framework and supporting policies and procedures.Assessing and evaluating risks and controls within BCB.Perform monitoring and test the adequacy and efficiency of the business controls and provide the business area's management with reports on the findings.Investigate and log (on risk management tool – Isometrix) risk incident reports submitted within BCB.Identify and analyse trends within BCB to establish root causes.Maintenance of a risk register and overall risk assessments for BCB.Tracking and maintenance of Risk Logs.Monitoring and logging of KRIs for BCB.Supporting the Risk Manager in risk scenarios preparation.Supporting the Risk Manager in monthly risk reporting.Participate in improving the risk reporting communication channel as well as a positive risk culture and promoting individual responsibility.Supporting BCB's risk management capabilities to ensure that they are sufficiently robust and effective to fully support its strategic objectives and all its risk-taking activities.Communicate to key stakeholders regarding the risk profile of the business.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDRelevant degree – BCom Risk Management (Advantageous).Risk Management Experience (3 years +), preferably in a banking environment.Membership of IRMSA or GARP advantageous.Banking/audit / financial services experience essential.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeContractJob functionFinance and SalesIndustriesBusiness Consulting and Services
