Overview
A Risk Manager is required to play a critical role in supporting the Group Enterprise Risk Manager in developing and embedding a risk management culture in the Omnia Manufacturing, Operations and Supply Chain (MOS) Division to safeguard the company's assets, reputation, and long-term viability.
Qualifications
Chemical Engineering/Supply Chain Degree or similar
Honours and Master's and relevant professionally recognised Risk Management qualification will be an advantage
Experience
6 - 10 years' experience as an Enterprise Risk Manager in Manufacturing, Operations or Supply Chain environment
Proven experience in enterprise risk management, preferably in a similar role within a complex organization or financial institution
Expertise in ERM systems and proficiency in leveraging technology to enhance risk management processes
Should have knowledge King IV reports on corporate governance as well as key business functions
Strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and frameworks (e.g ISO 31000)
Duties
Supporting the first line in leveraging ERM systems in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across all aspects of the Manufacturing, Operations and Supply Chain Division in line with approved Group standards
Coordinating and facilitating Functional Risk assessment workshops and development of risk profiles related to SA, Africa and International business interests
Conducting deep dives into business-critical matters
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement mitigating measures to reduce risk exposure to within defined risk appetite and tolerance thresholds
Implementing business continuity management
Ensuring that the elements of the risk management framework are embedded and operating effectively in the Manufacturing, Operations and Supply Chain Division
Staying abreast of emerging risks, taking into consideration the internal and external environments
Facilitating open communication channels through ERM systems to ensure that risk-related information is shared effectively across the organisation
Preparing appropriate risk reports to operational, management forums and Committees as required
Maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including first- and second-line teams and Senior Management
Providing ongoing monitoring and oversight of outsourced risk functions
Promoting a culture of risk awareness and accountability throughout the organization
