The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Establishing a competent, disciplined, and motivated HSEQ Team Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflow Effective coordination, implementation and facilitation if risk programmes and processes informed by specific specialisation Effective and regular evaluation of HSE and critical risk management systems compliance Proactively identifying trends from the leading indicator programme and involving project management in corrective and prevention measures. Effective team and self-management in alignment with M&RC's values and leadership initiatives Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalentNQF level 6 qualification in Safety / Risk / Environment or Quality ManagementBlasting Certificate or Trade CertificateCOMSOC 3 (advantageous)Specialisation-specific certifications, e.g. Risk Management, Environmental Management or Quality ManagementValid First Aid CertificateTrained in Advanced Accident Investigation Techniques e.g. TAPROOT, ICAMPossess the knowledge & skills in applying ISO 9000, 14000 and 45000 principlesValid code B driver's licenseSound verbal and written communication skills in English Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: At least 5 years of HSE experience in a mining environmentSupervisory experience (preferred)Capable of maintaining ISO CertificationFacilitate a Risk Assessment processUnderstanding of behaviour change safety principlesUnderstanding of HSEQ systems e.g. Isometrix, Critical Risk Management (CRM), SharePoint, Comply worksMust have a track record of systems implementation and Critical Risk Management principles All appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
